The Embarkation Ceremony at the State House will honor the Pilgrim forefathers and Native people who are immortalized in the historic founding of Plymouth Colony. Mayflower descendants and other Pilgrim families will provide programming about their ancestors. Wampanoag families will participate in a similar way. The General Society of Mayflower Descendants Conference will be held the same week in Boston, bringing thousands of descendants’ families to the Commonwealth. The rarely seen journal of Governor William Bradford, “Of Plymouth Plantation”, will be on display inside the State House. The Massachusetts State House will be open for a reception and tours after the ceremony.
