The Mayflower II Is Preparing to Come Home

Plimoth Plantation’s Mayflower II, the full-scale replica of the ship that carried the Pilgrims to Plymouth in 1620, has been in Mystic, Connecticut for the winter where she has been undergoing an extensive restoration project in preparation for the 400th anniversary of its sail. The ship will set sail this month to make the return voyage to Plymouth Harbor, but will return to Mystic Shipyard next winter.
Mystic Shipyard is the only museum shipyard in the country. Visitors can watch as crews use historical methods to restore and rebuild vessels like the Steamboat Sabino, the Charles W. Morgan, and now the Mayflower II.
