Today, we had the pleasure of presenting all 1,544 completed Plymouth 400 Commemorative License Plate applications to the Registry of Motor Vehicles!
This project took over two years to complete, but we’re thrilled that we’ve earned enough support from the Plymouth community and the State of Massachusetts to now have our very own Plymouth 400 commemorative license plates produced!
We must thank our dedicated volunteers, without whom we would not have been able to reach this milestone so soon! We’ve learned from the RMV’s Supervisor of Special Plates that most specialty plates take much longer than 2 years to secure the required 1,500 applications and payments to go into production, and some take up to 10 years or more!
With the support of several dozen volunteers along the way, we managed to sell 1,544 license plates, 28% of which went to residents of communities outside of Plymouth! We can’t wait to see them on the roads in 6 months!
If you purchased a plate, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support! If you’d interested in a Plymouth 400 commemorative plate, they will be available at RMVs across the state once the initial 1,500 are produced, which will likely be within the next 6 months.
