"Our"Story: 400 Years of Wampanoag History at The Massachusetts State House

Thursday, November 1, 2018 - 9:00am to Friday, November 30, 2018 - 5:00pm

Plymouth 400 will be moving the mobile museum that is "OUR"STORY: 400 Years of Wampanoag History to the Massachusetts State House for the month of November.  The exhibit will be on display to the public in observance of Native American Heritage Month. This will also mark the debut of the latest "chapter" in what will become a 7-chapter exhibit by 2020, with additional pieces of Wampanoag history added each time as the exhibit continues to travel throughout the region.  "Governance" is the 5th chapter and the State House will provide a perfect setting for the new subject matter.  In fact, the unique style of governance practiced by the Wampanoag and other Algonquin nations was so appealing to the founding fathers of the United States that many elements are reflected in the constitution.
