#GivingTuesday is right around the corner Tuesday December 1st 2015, is an international day of giving. Last year Plymouth 400 partnered with the #GivingTuesday organization in what was a successful mission to highlight giving and gratitude throughout the community. This year, Plymouth 400 will once again be partnering with #GivingTuesday to promote philanthropy, volunteerism, charitable giving, gratitude, and thanksgiving; themes that are essential to the foundation of this nation.
What is #GivingTuesday?
#GivingTuesday is an international movement that was started in 2012 by the 92nd St. Y; it is going on its 4th year. It is a movement that for one day honors people giving thanks by showing how they can give back. Starting November 3rd, 2015 the Plymouth 400 Inc. is kicking off a 5 week campaign dedicated to honoring the mission of giving back.
Why is it important that you get involved?
Plymouth is a town proudly held together by its strong sense of community. There are a number of ways that you can show your community spirit.
Make a donation to your favorite nonprofit
Volunteer at a hospital
Thank someone for their service
Pay it forward
Organize a community clean-up day
Organize a food drive
Volunteer at a soup kitchen
Pay someone a compliment
Clean up the athletic fields
Or come up with your own idea!
