“Our Story” in Provincetown
“Our Story—A Wampanoag History Exhibit”, our first educational exhibit, debuted last November at Plymouth Public Library. After spending the fall and winter months here in Plymouth, the exhibit recently made the trip down Route 6 to Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum, where it will be available to the public through June 30 as part of Provincetown Museum’s “Small Town, Big History! Provincetown’s Role in American History and Culture” exhibits.
This first installation of “Our Story” is called “Captured: 1614” and highlights a little-known piece of Wampanoag history that had a massive impact on the Wampanoag tribe, their relationship with the Mayflower Pilgrims, and the founding of Plymouth Colony. The exhibit has received international media attention and will continue to tour the region through 2020.
