In case you missed it, Plymouth made the front page of this week’s Globe South section with a feature story on the downtown promenade project, which will revitalize the waterfront area in preparation for 2020.
“They call it ‘America’s Hometown,’ and as it approaches its 400th birthday, it is clearly showing its age,” writes Emily Sweeney in her Boston Globe article.
Sweeney quotes Jonathan Beder, Director of Public Works in Plymouth as saying, “It’s a huge event for our nation’s history, and we want to be prepared. We want to create a more inviting waterfront. . . . We want to create a boardwalk.”

The Cape Cod Times also featured one of Plymouth’s iconic landmarks on the front page of the Sunday edition announcing the return of Mayflower II.
According to the story, Mayflower II is scheduled to depart Mystic Seaport on Tuesday, May 19 at approximately 9 a.m. for her return trip to Plymouth. The ship’s departure is dependent on tide levels and weather conditions.
